Improvements to the Look of the Dotte

  • Created Flash Trash Mobs, impromptu meetups with people around the community to pick up trash in their neighborhoods

  • Working on long-term solutions to blight reduction in our community 

  • Litter and Illegal Dumping program rewards citizens with $250 for a conviction

  • Ongoing support for basic but vital city services, like mowing city parks. Each park was mowed 16 times in 2020. 

Improvements to the Feel of the Dotte

  • Supported public safety in the community, funding 18 new firefighters and adding Station 12 in Piper

  • 85% of police officers are trained in Crisis Intervention

  • Body-worn cameras implemented 

  • Handicap accessible playgrounds and parks 

  • Accessible COVID-19 resources, including free testing, vaccination, extended hours for these services and assistance for those who need transportation.

Improvements to the Function of the Dotte

  • Reduced barriers to construction so vacant properties can be developed 

  • Monarchs and National Women's Soccer League added new local, affordable family activities

  • The Merc Co-Op went in downtown for greater food access in KCK

  • 10,000 new jobs in our community in the past four years 

  • $1 billion in investment that offsets the tax burden for our residents
